Add a little rouge

Hello all!
Hope you are doing great!

I am wonderful, mostly because I have spent the majority of my time curled up with a book in my armchair. Or listening to music, watching old films and baking. Ah heaven!
And in case you were wondering; Yes, I have always been a grandmother.

I got this lovely blouse (that ties in the back, photo of that will come) at sale from ModCloth. I love the little collar it has, and you can never go wrong with polka dots, can you?

Initially I had planned to wear this blouse with these trusty trousers, pedal pushers, from Vivien of Holloway. These trousers run quite long, I had to roll up mine several times before they were the "intended" length, but I suppose there's not much to do about that when you don't even reach 1.60 m.  Then I added my plain old black flats and hoop earrings, but I felt something was missing to the outfit.

Before heading out the door I put on some red lipstick, and saw that it was quite nice with the monochrome outfit. So I quickly added some blusher (because I've learnt not to wear red lips on their own - it drains the face) and concluded that the red indeed was a success. So I grabbed my new belt from Vivien of Holloway that gives a lovely little cinch to the waistline as well (I'm in love with small waists). And then I was actually really happy with this happenstance outfit!

I only wish I'd put on some more makeup... My eyes look so bare.

  2. Adore this outfit, the blouse and trousers are a match made in heaven and the belt is such a fun pop of colour! My hobbies are super similar so I'm joining the granny club (definitely the cool club) though I'll leave the baking to you <3

  3. Such a fun, elegant look - that channels such a charming Audrey vibe, IMO. Love the red stretch belt as a jolt of colour between the neutral top and bottoms.

    1. Thank you so much lovely. Oh you're very sweet. I didn't even think about that, but I suppose I look at so many Audrey photos that my subconscious takes inspiration from her.
Ah, yes the belt is awesome. I want one in every colour!

  6. The cut of those trousers is lovely! I love this whole outfit on you. I usually wear dresses myself so I always think experimenting with different types of trousers and pants is fun.

    1. Yeah, I love the high waist, but I must be honest, I thought they'd be tighter. But it's fine this way as well. I'm a dress girl too, you're right, it is fun! Thank you!

    1. Oh gosh! Thank you darling! You are too kind. I just meant that a winged liner would lend itself quite well to this sort of outfit. But anyway, you made me blush. <3

  11. I didn't realize you were so tiny!!! It's impossible to tell from pictures online how petite or tall someone is. You really are a magical creature.
