Last day of Summer

Hello everyone,
Hope you are all doing well.

I am very happy today, because in about 2 hours the last day of Summer will have come to an end here in Sweden. Autumn is here!

So I am sharing with you, the last of my summer outfits for this year (unless the weather turns warm suddenly).

I wore this lovely blue dress from Lindy Bop to an outing at IKEA, and just as I was rushing to leave two of the buttons popped off the dress. I don't know if the dress was trying to tell me that it was too tight, but I didn't heed the warning. Instead I grabbed two trusty safety pins and pinned together the front of the dress!

The dress is mended now, and I've worn it without the buttons popping off, so I take that as a good sign. It really is a lovely dress, very lightweight and perfect for a hot summer's day.

I got it on sale from Lindy Bop. I've mentioned this before, but it's worth another mention -- Lindy Bop has the best sales. And there is actually one on going right now!

So that's that, and summer is no more!
To which I say - "Yay!" and "Welcome Autumn".

Much love,

Chocolate Galaxy

Hello all,
I hope August is treating you well!

This is the first Lindy Bop dress I've worn on the blog (not my first ever though...) and I got it even though it was a wee bit big for me. I couldn't help it. Something drew me to this dress! It reminded me of something I couldn't quite put my fingers on.

I only discovered after I'd worn it what it had reminded me of. And I discovered it while scrolling through YouTube, being bored as ever. I sometimes decide to watch scenes from films that I love, and I was watching a scene from Funny Face, when in the Suggested Videos list my dress appeared. On Audrey Hepburn!

The above video is a commercial for Galaxy Chocolate and they produced these scenes by CGing (is that a word?) her face on to a lady's body. And isn't it marvellous?

I had seen this commercial ages ago and completely forgotten about it, but at the back of my mind I had registered the dress she wore in the video, and recorded it to my memory.

I was more than delighted when I realised that my dress was similar to a dress that Audrey Hepburn might've worn! I was so close to buying the navy one instead as well, but in the end decided on Chocolate Brown, what are the chances!

As for Lindy Bop - I love their garments! They have sales all the time and they really do slash the prices.

I wish you all an amazing and beautiful day!

Gertrude Made me Pink

Hello all,
Hope you are having a splendid summer. My summer holidays are coming to an end, and I might be grieving...

I don't have much to say today, I'm spending a lot of time on catching Pokémons and today I caught a Lapras outside of an interior design shop.

This lovely dress is made out of vintage cotton (cotton is perfect for Poké hunting), but it was made within this year. Cathi from Gertrude Made makes these lovely dresses out of new vintage fabric, and it looks like you're wearing vintage, without there being any wear or tear to the dress! I love it! I've worn Gertrude Made on the blog previously (here). I picked up this pink one in particular on one of Gertrude Made's sales. There's still one in AU size 16 available, if you love it as much as I do. You should definitely check out Gertrude Made. And you can see the lovely fabrics on her fabric instagram (@gertrudemadefabrics).

Oh and by the way, totally unsponsored post. I just really love everything Cathi of Gertrude Made makes. I follow Cathi on instagram (@gertrudemade) and constantly see dresses being shipped off across the world, that I want! But I'm just happy another gorgeous lady gets to enjoy such a beautiful and unique dress.

Have a great day!

Add a little rouge

Hello all!
Hope you are doing great!

I am wonderful, mostly because I have spent the majority of my time curled up with a book in my armchair. Or listening to music, watching old films and baking. Ah heaven!
And in case you were wondering; Yes, I have always been a grandmother.

I got this lovely blouse (that ties in the back, photo of that will come) at sale from ModCloth. I love the little collar it has, and you can never go wrong with polka dots, can you?

Initially I had planned to wear this blouse with these trusty trousers, pedal pushers, from Vivien of Holloway. These trousers run quite long, I had to roll up mine several times before they were the "intended" length, but I suppose there's not much to do about that when you don't even reach 1.60 m.  Then I added my plain old black flats and hoop earrings, but I felt something was missing to the outfit.

Before heading out the door I put on some red lipstick, and saw that it was quite nice with the monochrome outfit. So I quickly added some blusher (because I've learnt not to wear red lips on their own - it drains the face) and concluded that the red indeed was a success. So I grabbed my new belt from Vivien of Holloway that gives a lovely little cinch to the waistline as well (I'm in love with small waists). And then I was actually really happy with this happenstance outfit!

I only wish I'd put on some more makeup... My eyes look so bare.

Have a great rest of the week!

Summer florals

Hello there,
I hope you are all doing well.

I am wearing something as revolutionary as florals for Summer. So innovative right?

Anyway, this is one of my favourite dresses and it is handmade by Windram Design (facebook page here). It is so full and twirly. The amount of fabric is amazing, and I wore a petticoat under it and was told I look like a cupcake (which, really is the best compliment a girl can get).

I actually also wore this to one of my very important presentations that I had in front of the whole department at work. I was so nervous and wanted to look my best, and I wanted to look totally and fully "me". So this cute, floral dress felt very much like it represented me.

It has become a staple in my Summer wardrobe because it is light weight and flowy. I really really adore this dress!!

Earrings: H&M (old)
Flats: Daisy Street via Asos (old)

Anyway, I don't have much to say in terms of life. I'm in my holidays, it is amazing and great and I wish it would never end. How are you all doing?

Hope everything is good.
Much love,

Lips as red as blood

Konnichiwa!

Lately my blog has become popular in Japan, which I think is amazing! I love Japan, but it makes me think... Lindsey - is it you?

I am feeling poorly, with an infection and fever, but it's only a cold, so it'll be over soon. I was lucky to escape colds all spring, so it's only fair that summer brings one. I hope you are all doing well though!

I rarely write about makeup even though I love makeup! I especially love lipstick, and mostly red lipstick. Well let me tell you something exciting - I think I've found the best red lipstick out there!

It's from Bésame Cosmetics, and the colour is 1920 Bésame Red. It is a blueish bright red that is a replica on a true colour from 1920. It's very pigmented but still feels creamy on the lips - I love the texture! I can't believe I've gone so long without this magnificent lipstick.

Another thing that I really love about this lipstick is that it leaves a lovely stain on the lips after wearing it. It makes me think that it would look lovely to tint the lips with.

For people in Sweden and probably the rest of Europe, it's unfortunately not possible to order cosmetics from Bésame's own page (really, needs to be fixed imo), but I managed to get the lipstick from Beauty Bay.

This is not a sponsored post, I just really like this lipstick and wanted to share that with you!

Do you have any favourite lipsticks? Any favourite red lipsticks? I'm always looking for different shades of red lipstick. I just love the Snow White look it gives.

Much love,
