Happy Christmas
Hello all you lovely people!
I just wanted to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas (if you do celebrate it) and/or Happy Holidays!
I'm curled up with a nice blanket, eating tons of chocolate, Nutella fudge, knäck and other yummy things. I'm so full that I really should stop eating, but there is no end to it in sight.
In Sweden we celebrate on Christmas Eve by opening presents and having a big meal. So yesterday I unwrapped my Christmas gifts, amongst them a warm sweater and a madeleine tin, which I look forward to using very much.
For Christmas Day I wore this magnificent emerald dress by Chi Chi from ModCloth, and I absolutely love it. I also wore the highest heels I've worn this year, these gorgeous sparkly ones that I got on Black Friday Sale from ModCloth.
I don't usually go to many parties, as I've mentioned before, so I really like to go all in for special occasions like Christmas. I love to do my makeup, wear fancy clothes and high, uncomfortable heels for a festive day. So I did just that, even though I had no real party to go to, and stayed at home with my family. Who's to say you can't dress up for a day at home?
Anyway, I've had a splendid Christmas even though it was the first one in my life without any snow. I hope you all had a lovely yule time too. Sending you lots of love!

Mona, you look gorgeous. Gorgeous, I say! That dress is amazingly beautiful on you and the colour makes your beautiful white skin stand out even more. You are a delight to watch. You beauty, you! I bet your family was thrilled do be able to watch you, clad like this, the whole day. I know I would :D.
ReplyDeleteWe also do the unpacking and the big meal on Christmas Eve in Poland. I thought it was local to us, somehow it's nice to know we're not alone in this :). Thanks for that interesting tidbit about your traditions. Christmas is a really fascinating tradition all around the globe as everyone seems to be celebrating it differently! This year it was my first time celebrating Xmass with my boyfriend's family, and even though they only live a couple hundreds kilometres from my home, and it's still the same country, they had totally different dishes on the table! I was my first christian Xmass, too, and it was interesting to hear them read from the Bible in the beginning.
Anyway... happy Christmas and holidays to you, too! And don't stop munching on the goodies before you run out of them, after all it's just once a year :3.
Kisses!
Klara
Oh Klara! You're making me blush. Thank you so much my dear friend! You are much too kind and sweet. Thank you for all the lovely compliments. <3 <3
DeleteReally! I also thought that it was a local (Scandinavian) thing to celebrate on Christmas Eve. I agree, there are lots of different and very interesting ways of celebrating Christmas, and the traditions are fun to hear about.
Wow, that's so lovely and interesting. Must have been very nice to spend Christmas with your boyfriend's family, but that's amazing that there were completely different foods. Must have been fascinating for you, to get a new side of Christmas, the christian side of it. Thank you for sharing your experiences. I love to hear about the various ways of celebrating Christmas around our continent.
Thank you so much darling. I don't think I will, haha. I'm in a perpetual state of fullness. You are so right my friend ;D
Much love <3
Merry Christmas back, girl! You look so lovely in green! I love that the skirt has some volume to it - did you need a petticoat at all? Just lovely. And those HEELS!! I love them! So sparkly!! I wish I wore heels a bit more. Only just recently getting used to kitten heels and little baby bootie heels. haha!
ReplyDeleteThank you lovely!
DeleteAww, thanks. Green is one of my fav colours. There's no petticoat at all - it's just the dress, and it's wonderfully voluminous. Haha, thanks. I fell for these heels, I'm like you though. I almost never wear heels, but I just had to get these ;)
Much love
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas Mona! You looked absolutely stunning, that dress is just perfect on you, I love the colour with your hair and skintone! <3
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Andini! I did have a lovely Christmas! I hope the same for you!
DeleteOh thank you so much. You flatter me :3 I love the dark green colour of it too.
Much love
Merry Christmas, Mona! You look stunning! That dress fits you like a glove, what a great shape. Your sparkly heels are fantastic too. I don't like going out to parties either (yay for being social awkward!) but don't let it stop me from wearing pretty dresses when I feel like it :D
ReplyDeleteThank you, and Happy Christmas to you too.
DeleteThank you so much, you're very sweet. I really like the shape and the poofy skirt too! Thank you!
Hahaha, indeed yay for being social awkward. Going to parties is just so much effort! I'd rather stay home :P haha Good thing you still wear your pretty dresses! I'll do that to! ;D
Much love
You look gorgeous, this dress is a real princess dress! :D it's always nice to pamper, put a smart outfit and makeup for special occasions like Christmas. It must have been weird for you not to have any snow though - I think we really messed up with the weather, it's the same in France where it feels like we're in spring and not in December... Anyways, it's nice that we still get in the Christmas spirit! :D
ReplyDeleteJulia xx
Thank you so very much Julia :3
DeleteI agree with you - pampering is fun! And wearing pretty dresses is the optimal way to pamper ;)
It was very weird to look out and see a bunch of dark and grey rather than white. I hope it's just a temporary thing, that it'll get colder next year again.
Very nice to still be in the Christmas spirit :)
Much love
What a beautiful dress! You look amazing; I love that lipstick on you, and this emerald color looks gorgeous with your skin tone! And those HEELS! I wore sparkly gold heels to a Christmas party as well, although they were a different style. There's nothing like wearing uncomfortable but beautiful shoes to make you feel pretty. ;)
ReplyDeleteWe always open gifts on Christmas morning, so this Christmas we opened our presents to each other early, and then went to my parents' for a good breakfast and more present-opening, before heading to my in-laws' for a relaxed afternoon of... mostly playing video games. It was nice, and just my kind of day. I like parties, but I do need to relax and recharge after, so spending Christmas with just a select few was perfect!

Thank you sooo very much Kristina! <3
DeleteYou're making me blush like mad. Thank you thank you!
Sparkly heels are the best ;) I just felt so very festive!
Hahaha, I agree, there is something special about uncomfortable shoes.
Oh that sounds like so much fun, to have a good christmas breakfast. And video games! Who doesn't love that - so nice to be able to take it easy in the stress of Christmas! I'm glad you had a nice Christmas! <3
Much love
I hope you had a very merry Christmas Mona. I adore this dress, it's so beautiful and festive. I also like to dress up to stay at home on Christmas day! Any excuse for me!
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy the rest of the holidays.

Thank you Emma! You too!
DeleteThanks, I adore it too, it feels rather glamorous (which I like)!
Sounds perfect! I feel the same way.
You have a lovely continuation of the holidays too!
Much love
Ahhhh you look so gorgeous, Mona! This look is so glamorous and that dress was seriously made for you. I've been drooling over those heels from ModCloth for forever too. :) We had a snow-less Christmas this year too...but as I am writing this we are currently having a blizzard. Haha. (Better late than never?)
ReplyDeleteOhh thank you so much lovely! I felt a bit too glamorous to be honest, for sitting at home sipping tea, but well...
DeleteThey are so gorgeous! They're even nicer irl! I say go for it! Get them, life is short - buy the shoes!
I'm sorry you didn't have a white xmas either. Don't know if a blizzard is to prefer though... Stay safe!
Much love
