Last day of Summer

Hello everyone,
Hope you are all doing well.

I am very happy today, because in about 2 hours the last day of Summer will have come to an end here in Sweden. Autumn is here!

So I am sharing with you, the last of my summer outfits for this year (unless the weather turns warm suddenly).

I wore this lovely blue dress from Lindy Bop to an outing at IKEA, and just as I was rushing to leave two of the buttons popped off the dress. I don't know if the dress was trying to tell me that it was too tight, but I didn't heed the warning. Instead I grabbed two trusty safety pins and pinned together the front of the dress!

The dress is mended now, and I've worn it without the buttons popping off, so I take that as a good sign. It really is a lovely dress, very lightweight and perfect for a hot summer's day.

I got it on sale from Lindy Bop. I've mentioned this before, but it's worth another mention -- Lindy Bop has the best sales. And there is actually one on going right now!

Dress: Lindy Bop (old)
Flats: Asos (here)
Earrings: ModCloth (old)

So that's that, and summer is no more!
To which I say - "Yay!" and "Welcome Autumn".

Much love,

  3. We can tell you are excited about autumn Mona! :P This dress is lovely, I love the colour, it's a rather unusual blue (at least a shade of blue I don't see very often). A few buttons are easily mended, if you didn't say I wouldn't even have noticed it in the photos! :D

  5. Those dang buttons!! I don't think the dress was too tight - so many times I get dresses with fabric covered buttons and they are never sewn down well enough! I often reinforce them before wearing just bc I know they will fall off!! Come on, dress makers! Help us out!

Anyway, buttons aside, this is adorable! I love snagging things from LindyBop sales! Another good brand like LB is Lady V London and they have amazing sales too!! Check them out!

  11. I don't think for second that the dress is too tight, yes it hugs all the right places but it certainly doesn't look strained. I find that often when buying an item with fabric buttons they tend not be sewn on too well and unravel easily... haha safety pins to the rescue as per usual.
I'm definitely going to have to do some browsing on Linda Bop because that dress is gorgeous and you look a vision in it!

I absolutely love that place and the buttons are always popping off when I visit, but in my case it is because I have eaten too many meatballs haha! They are so delicious :D your style is amazing Mona! Hope you're enjoying September so far! xx

  18. You look just darling, Mona! This dress is so cute! And yay for safety pins, haha. Also, I wanted to let you know, I took your advice and finally watched Roman Holiday - such a great movie! And your outfit post modeled after it was absolute perfection! I thought about it the whole time I was watching it. :)

Hope you're having a lovely week, Mona!

  22. So lovely! A great solid coloured button front dress like this is one of the most versatile, handy garments one can own, IMO. Add in a great colour like this into the equation and it's even more of a gem.

I hope that you're doing well and having a great September, honey.

    Oodles of hugs,
