Hope you are all doing well, and I hope that spring has reached you where ever you are. I wish I could say that spring has reached me here in northern Sweden, but yesterday we had a snow storm, and it seems like spring will never come.
I wanted to write a post about this really easy-to-make ice cream, and I thought that the end of April would be a good time to share the recipe because the weather has warmed up then, but no Sir!
Petulantly I will share this post anyway, cold weather be damned!
Easy Vanilla Ice Cream
Recipe adapted from Manuela Kjeilen.INGREDIENTS
- 1 can (397 grams) sweetened condensed milk
- 4 dl whipping cream
- 0.5 teaspoons ground vanilla pod
DIRECTIONS
Place the condensed milk and the whipping cream in the freezer for 20 minutes before you start. Take out the condensed milk from the freezer and pour it into a bowl. Whip it with an electric mixer until it is a bit lighter and fluffier. Pour in the whipping cream and continue to beat until it becomes thicker. Add the vanilla and whip some more until it is fluffy and thick. Pour into boxes or bowls and place in freezer chilling it, preferably over night.
I served my vanilla ice cream with my chocolate brownies, and they were SO good together. To see my brownie recipe click here. I added a bit of colour with sprinkles from Sweetapolita (here).
It really is super simple to vary this recipe and create different flavours. In another post I will show you how you can create other yummy ice cream flavours.
For now though, I wish you the best of days!
Much love,
Spring will arrive to you and it will be marvelous!
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for sharing!! I'm going to make this recipe now with some brownies too. :)
P.S: The colorful round sprinkles are perfection on this.<333

DeleteOf course! That sounds delicious!
And I agree, I just love these sprinkles. ;)

I'll eat icecream anytime, cold be damned so will definitely have to try this recipe out. I've never made icecream before but this seems simple enough for my first attempt, thank you so much for sharing! <3
ReplyDeleteHaha! You're like me then! I'll eat ice cream in the middle of winter if the thought strikes me. Oh yes, it's very simple, you can do it!! :D My pleasure!
DeleteMuch love
Oh no! Your weather sounds similar to Wisconsin! We haven't had a snowstorm in couple weeks, but we went from sweltering summer temps to below freezing in a matter of days. Hopefully you get some spring weather soon! And my goodness does this ice cream look scrumptious! I never thought to make homemade ice cream, but your recipe seems like one I could attempt to try!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're having a lovely week, Mona!

Haha really? That sucks. The spring seems to have forgotten to come in many places. Thank you, and you too, some spring weather.
DeleteOh thanks!! :D It's super simple and easy to make, and you don't have to churn it, so it's perfect!
Thank you so much beautiful Lindsey!

This sounds delicious! It would be perfect for spring, but it's still cold where I live, too ♥

I never thought about doing my own ice cream before! This seems super easy indeed, and vanilla ice cream never goes out of style :D It's crazy that you got a snow storm - well, to my French continental weather, at least! Although we did get a few snowflakes in Paris yesterday, global warming makes everything go crazy :o But there's no excuse needed to eat ice cream, especially with brownie as you did here!

It's both fun and easy! I agree ;)
DeleteHahaha, that's right, any weather requires ice cream + brownies.
Much love
I have to admit...I'm eyeing the brownie more, haha! I'm a chocoholic who loves brownies- I'll have to click that link you had over brownies ;) XO

Oooh, can't wait to try this! I also don't have an ice-cream maker and love that I don't need one for homemade ice-cream. Yay! xo

Oh yay! I know, I'm the same. I feel like there should be ice creams that don't require an ice cream maker! And luckily there is! Haha

This sounds so tasty and super easy! I have an ice cream maker somewhere - I've never used it as theres not enough room to fit it into the freezer! This seems like something I could try though.
