Hope you are doing well!
So... It's December! Happy December everyone!
I blogged a total of zero times last month. I apologise for being absent, and I hope you can forgive me. I have no real explanation other than that I didn't feel like blogging, my mental health has been up and down, and I've been very busy at work.

Before I disappeared I promised to blog about my London adventures, and I'm still hoping to do that. Anyway... This outfit is from the beginning of September, right before I went to London with my darling family. I remember that it was very warm in London, but in northern Sweden it was autumn for sure. And now in December there is not a leaf in sight - just a whole lot of ice and occasionally (I'm sad to say it is occasional, damn global warming) some snow.

Anyway, you can never go wrong with black and white. And while it is minimalistic and classic, I decided to quirk things up a bit with a fun print.

I fell in love with this blouse when it first arrived to ModCloth. It has a super cute collar, and the print is darling! There's one cat with flat ears, one ear is black (in the very middle in the photo above) that I've decided is my very favourite. It would for sure be my cat, it looks so sweet. I'm a cat lady without a cat!

A Sweet Treat

A sweat treat for Valentine's day?
Why not wear it!

I'm so in love with this cupcake jumper. The moment I saw it I knew it had to be an addition to my wardrobe. It's so very "me" (she says about yet another clothing item with cupcakes on it).

Valentine's day is approaching, and I don't really celebrate it in any other way than eating some yummy treat and wearing something cute (preferably red). I'm a bit ambivalent about Valentine's day. It really is capitalist bollocks, but at the same time I sort of like a day to celebrate love.

I get bothered by people who seem to think that Valentine's day is simply for romantic love. I think it is a day where we should celebrate all kinds of love, including platonic love and self-love! Valentine's day does not have to be about being in a relationship, and it annoys me that people are anti-Vday because they are single. You can be single and celebrate Valentine's day anyway!! A life without romantic love is not a life without love.

Yes, media especially Hollywood films, seem to equal love to romantic love. It's like the value of other types of love have diminished over the years. The only love worth having is that of romantic love. But as someone who has never been in a romantic relationship - my love is worth just as much as your love, even if it is platonic! Just saying...

Now that I've done my preaching I'll go back to the outfit. I'm particularly happy with this outfit, and it feels like it is the perfect one for a day filled with treats (Vday!!). I adore the little collar clips that I got from the etsy shop, Femme De Bloom. They are so cute and I feel like the enhance the cupcake on my jumper.

I also love the small heels of BAIT footwear's Ione model. And it is surprisingly comfortable, which made me very happy to find out, as I had only bought flats from BAIT previously. I've got one pair of Ione's and one pair of Ida's, and I think the Ione's are more comfortable. What do you think? I know BAIT footwear is super popular amongst my followers on IG, so I'd love to hear which of BAIT's models you find to be the most comfortable.

A Small Thanks

The new year had started. It's time for new beginnings, but I want to start this year by thanking you all for the support I received on my last post of 2015.

Writing about your personal life isn't always easy. Granted, for me it is easier to write about it than to talk about it, being the introvert that I am. But even so, writing about yourself isn't easy. And it is difficult to know how far you want to go, how much you want to let people in. This is especially true when you have a disease. And probably even more true when you suffer from mental illness, which is so stigmatised.

Writing about my depression, OCD and anxiety was not something I really thought much about the first time around. I didn't go in to many details about how my disorders made me feel, but tried to describe how they are. So it was easy in a way. The latest post I wrote, about my 2015, on the other hand, I thought a lot about. It got quite personal, and for some time I was unsure on whether or not I wanted to let you in so close to me.

The reactions I got from the post made me realise I had nothing to worry about. Again, I must thank all of you that have reached out to me after that post. It meant everything to me that you would let alone read it, and as it has become one of the most popular posts of mine, I can know for a fact that it has been read. But to get all those sweet, caring, understanding and intelligent comments, both here on the blog and on Instagram gave me a whole new gratitude to my readers/followers. I can't thank you enough - you are all worth your weight in gold! If the world was filled with people like you it would be paradise on earth.

I have to stop now, before I get too emotional.

Let's talk about the dress instead. I believe a black, sleeveless, velvet dress is a wardrobe essential. It is like one of the essential amino acids, you just need to have it in your wardrobe to create outfits around. This one that I'm wearing has been on my wishlist for close to a year, but it's from the AW14 collection of Book of Deer, so I was only lucky enough to get one recently when Book of Deer had a sale of the old collection. It is still available, and I can truly recommend it. Not only is it a lovely baby doll silhouette, but it has got amazingly delicate and beautiful details, that do not show very well in my pictures.

After a year of pining for this dress I can conclude, patience is a virtue.

Looking back

Hello everyone!
Thought I'd disappeared for good?

I am finally back to blogging after more than a week of silence, and really there hasn't been much to it other than that life happened. I've been ridiculously busy with life and work and blogging unfortunately took a back seat. But now I am back, and I will work hard to try and post regularly.

It has been a tough week for the world, with terrorist attacks in various countries around our globe. The attacks have not left me untouched and my heart goes out to all the people affected. The attacks that really shook me was the ones in Paris. An attack on Paris is not just an attack on France, but on Europe. It is an attack against the democratic way of living that we have in the west and it is an attack on freedom, justice and brotherhood. I don't pray, but my thoughts are with the people of the world! Here's hoping for peace in our lifetime.

I took these pictures more than a month ago, when the leaves were still green, and autumn had just about begun. I bought the dress when I was in London from House of Fraser, which is such a magnificent place if you like clothes the way I do. We spent a good couple of hours in House of Fraser, and I managed to find this dress that I had seen on ModCloth from Yumi in the sale section, so I instantly bought it even though it's original mustard belt was missing. I am however on the look out for a mustard coloured belt, so if anyone knows of any place that has a mustard belt, please let me know!

You're gonna miss me when I'm gone

Since I've discovered Book of Deer I have been a fan.
The brand gets inspiration from nature and fairytales resulting in the most beautiful hand drawn prints that are bound to stand out as something special compared to today's trends. From unique prints to feminine pieces Book of Deer is everything I love with clothes.

The latest collection from Book of Deer "An Ode to Iceland", is inspired by the mystical Iceland. With amazing silhouettes and unique prints, I think this might be my favourite collection from Book of Deer so far. I instantly fell for the Sakna dress in Sky with its alluring print of the northern lights. The northern lights have always fascinated me, the sky wakes up into a whirl of colour and magic. I have been lucky enough to see the northern lights countless of times, as I live in the north of Sweden. When I was younger I didn't really understand how unusual it is, but as I've grown older I've cherished the appearances of the aurora more than before.

The name of the dress strikes a chord in me. Sakna in Swedish means to miss, as in "I miss you". It is a delicate name for a dress that made me reminisce about old times that I miss, when I would walk home from school and see the northern lights. Usually you see the lights on very cold days, and I can remember those days when the cold air brought tears to my eyes and would freeze my eyelashes together. I would tear open my eyes to look at the painted sky above that was alive with magnificent light. It really is a graceful moment of mythical beauty, that has now been captured in cloth by Book of Deer.
