Are you still here?

If you are still here that makes me very glad that you would visit this blog again. But the question was directed at winter. Are you still here Winter? How long were you planning to stay?

February is one of my favourite months even though I usually feel like I want spring to just come already. And it is definitely not spring in February.

However, there are other great things about February. Mainly edible things.
February is my birthday month, which means birthday cake. It is also the month of Valentine's Day, which I celebrate by eating some type of cake or pastry.

Shrove Tuesday (or Mardi Gras as you Americans call it) also usually falls within the month of February. In Sweden we have a special pastry for Shrove Tuesday called Semla (I'll tell you all about it in another post). And to top it all off, within the first week of February, the 5th to be exact, is Nutella Day.

Could this month get any more delicious!

So Happy February to you all! I hope this month will treat you well. Expect lots of recipes on the blog this month. But to start it all off here's an outfit post.

This is the perfect winter dress. It's a cosy material, almost sweatshirt-like, that's warm and toasty. It's got the cutest fit and the little wings are just adorable. There are wee elf houses embroidered on it which makes me smile. I paired it with knee-high socks and it really did become the comfiest outfit I've ever worn. At the same time it's really a cute look because of the minidress fit.
Psst... this dress is currently on sale right here. So if you like it, make haste.

Dress: Book of Deer (here)
Knee-high socks: Lindex (old)
Shoes: ModCloth (here)

Much love,

  1. To answer your first question: I'm always here and always will be! :)
Winter seems to be already gone in Poland, would you believe it? It literally feels like spring now. I love it.

It's interesting that you celebrate eating sweets on a Tuesday in Sweden. We have that tradition on Thrusday and we call it Fat Thursday. We eat doughnuts (not the "O" shaped ones, but the round ones with different fillings) and faworki which are a sweet, crumbly, delicious and deep fried treat in the shape of bowties (roughly). I can't wait for your recipies this month!

Also love the dress and your amazingly long braids. Beautiful!

    1. Aww Klara <3 That means the world to me.
Yeah, I could actually believe it - I keep seeing photos on IG of places where it's practically spring, and wonder when it'll be our turn. hehehe

Yeah it's on Tuesdays, Fat Tuesday we call it (Fettisdag in Swedish). Really? You have a Fat Thursday. Well I could easily do both!! :D Doughnuts with filling.... yuuuuuum.
Faworki looks delicious! We have something similar-ish called klenäter that is usually eaten round christmas time.
When is Fat Thursday? Is it also in February, cause in that case I'm sooo celebrating it!

Thank you so much darling. You are far too kind <3

    2. Oh! I was late to reply, so sorry! Fat Thursday was yesterday! I ate three doughnuts filled with rose jam --traditional and my favorite. You can easily do a Fat Friday on my behalf today and celebrate a Fat Thursday next year! :3

    3. Hehe, that's okay, because I did actually have doughnuts both on Thursday and Friday :D hahaha
Oh wow, rose jam, that sounds so delicious. I will definitely look out for that. Next year I will be so ready for Fat Thursday ;D

  3. Wow, I didn't know February was a month were we could expect so much food! It makes it much more interesting now :P Although we don't really celebrate Mardi Gras in France anymore, today is actually la Chandeleur, which is basically crepes day - I'm making some later today :D
Your dress looks SO comfy and cute! I love the little wings too.

Oh, I thought Mardi Gras was a French thing that had gone over to the states, so I was sure that you'd celebrate it too. But yeah, I saw that it was crepes day! I would loooove some crepes! See February is fantastic! :D

  5. This is such a darling look! And I LOVE your braids; your hair is always so, so pretty. (So are you!)

Ah, I can relate to wanting winter to go already! I think spring and fall are my favorite seasons -- I don't like being too hot or too cold, so while I enjoy winter and summer, I much prefer the milder weather of fall and spring. And all the flowers that come out in spring, and the gorgeous colors of the fall leaves... yep.

What day is your birthday? My parents were both born in February - my mom on the 9th and my dad on the 4th.

    1. Oh thank you so much Kristina!! <3 Aww, thanks, I usually don't do much with my hair, it's usually just a curly mess, haha.

I couldn't agree more. I think summer and winter have their own beauty, but spring and especially autumn are just magical.

I'm on the 19th, so it's still a bit left. Oh wow! Lucky mum, feb 9th is Shrove Tuesday!! And lucky dad, his bday is the day before world nutella day! ;P Very good birthdays, if you were to rate which days are the best to have birthdays on :P hahaha

  6. Ooooh this is such an adorable look! I love your hair! And a dress that feels like a sweatshirt? Yes please! And I am ready for winter to be gone now too. Haha. However, as I'm writing this we are currently getting our worst blizzard of the year...so, I don't believe it's going anywhere any time soon! I'm looking forward to some recipe posts too! :)

  9. You know, I hate winter so much that I tend to forget all the good things that happen in February--thank you for the reminder! I didn't even know Nutella Day was coming up, but thankfully I have a big new jar ready. And your birthday is coming up as well! How exciting!

You know I am madly in love with this dress! It looks darling on you, and I still can't get over those little houses!

    1. Oh you must really hate winter then. No but Feb is a lovely and short month, it's over before you know it, and then it's practically spring.
It's always nice to have a new jar ready come February. Exciting - a year older (wiser?).

You would look super cute in this dress too. And I'm sure you would do something nice and fancy to your hair, and look fabulous in it!
