Idols

Hello all you wonderful people!
Christmas is only two weeks away, and we've just had the most celebratory day in the science world - the Nobel day.

When I was a kid I remember we were asked once who our "idols" were. This way in the late 90's/early 00's, and most girls my age answered Britney Spears. I don't think that there's anything wrong with that. But I distinctly remember thinking "What's so idol-worthy about being a pop singer?", what can I say I was naive, and didn't quite understand that people have different goals in life. My goal was not to be a pop singer. No, I wanted to be a scientist. So when the question came upon me of who my idol was I answered "Albert Einstein". He was one of the most famous scientists of all time, and to the nine year old me - he was a true idol. I wanted to be just like him, become a person known for their great intelligence, make immense contributions to the world of science and, of course, win the Nobel prize!

Needless to say, I love the Nobel day! So all in all December is a great month, with advent calendars, Christmas music, presents, a bunch of cosyness and the biggest science party of the year!

On to my outfit, this is an entirely Book of Deer outfit, and actually it is also entirely AW14, but I got both of these lovely pieces that I had been pining for in the Black Friday sale of Book of Deer.

The lovely, warm, nice, soft, velvet jumper is available in some sizes, so make haste if you want it! The jumper is amazing, as you might have noticed by my description of it. I love everything velvet, and this jumper has a bow, which we all know elevates things to perfection! And the skirt is such a lovely ice-cold grey colour, and it has wee bears on it! How awesome is that?

Jumper: Book of Deer (here)
Tights: Primark

Are any of the rest of you interested in the Nobel prize? I'm both Swedish and a scientist so it's close to home, but what do you guys think of the prize? And what did you think about Bob Dylan getting the literature prize?

Have a beautiful wintery Sunday!
Much love,

  2. Welcome back Mona darling and a belated happy Nobel day! I can completely and utterly relate to your anecdote! I have to say It only seems right that Einstein was your childhood idol! I distinctly recall going as Marie Curie on a dressing up day (famous people) back in primary school! I myself mostly looked up to the strong female protagonists though in the books I read! You look absolutely adorable in that Book of deer number and your hair is goals as per usual! Have a lovely week!

  3. That's cool that Nobel day is so celebrated where you are, but that makes all the sense in the world! I wish science was a helluva a lot more celebrated here in the USA...it's kind of a tragedy that it's not and many people are even skeptical of science...yikes! I also love this head to toe look from one of your favorite brands!! XO

    1. Well, being that the Nobel prize is Swedish, I suppose we sort of "have to" celebrate it. But I think it's all a lot of fun!
Yeah, that makes me sad too.
      Aww, thank you beautiful.
      Have a great weekend!
      Much love,

  4. I'm so happy that you're posting again :D I had never thought about Nobel Day before, it is not a thing in France but that's actually a great occasion to celebrate. We should give more importance to the people who make great changes to the world - just like Einstein did!
As for your outfit, it is super cute, as usual! The jumper looks so cosy and comfortable :D

Really? I thought maybe it was bigger in Europe. I think it's a wonderful thing to celebrate, and it's great fun!
